HEY MAINSTREAM MEDIA, WHAT'S THE HURRY?

The Associated Press “called” the 2020 presidential election at 11:30 am Saturday for Joe Biden. Other media followed. Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, the rest of the Democrat Party, and allied media behaved as if it were official. President Trump had not conceded. He had instead filed suit in Pennsylvania and Arizona alleging improprieties in vote counting, and is waiting for results of recounts in Georgia and Wisconsin.

Meanwhile, according to Reuters, Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said he will not congratulate a winner “until all the legal matters have been resolved. I can’t congratulate one candidate or the other. I want to wait until the electoral process is over.” Reuters then declared: “Democrat Joe Biden won the election on Saturday after a victory in the battleground state of Pennsylvania put him over the threshold of 270 Electoral College votes.” Reuters evidently believes our Constitution doesn’t have as much authority as media do in presidential elections.

Others disagree. “Networks Don’t Get to Decide Elections, Courts Do,” said Trump lawyer and advisor Rudolph Giuliani.

Pennsylvania's Secretary of State hates Trump

So here we are at this writing on Tuesday, November 10th. I cannot help but wonder what will happen if recounts in Georgia and Arizona produce Trump victories, and then the Supreme Court rules that Pennsylvania must disregard ballots it got after election day, and that could give the state to Trump. That scenario looks unlikely at this point but it is still possible. If Biden loses Pennsylvania, his electoral count would be 270. Should any other state be taken out of the Biden column, he doesn’t win.

However, media called the election for Biden and will continue cementing that idea in America’s collective mind as strongly as they can. They’ll also continue depicting allegations of Democrat fraud as preposterous.

What if, after all the court cases and recounts, the Electoral College then declares that Trump has won a second term? Many expected explosions of rioting by groups like Antifa and BLM if Trump were to have won a second term last week. Imagine if those groups, assuaged at first by a perceived Biden victory, had it snatched away. It’s not unrealistic to visualize huge riots dwarfing those we saw all summer. Should that level of violence come to pass, we could justifiably blame media for inciting it.

When Trump announced his candidacy in 2015, networks thought him ridiculous, but they gave him enormous coverage because it pushed their ratings up. After he won the nomination coverage turned negative. After he was elected, coverage turned malevolent and continued at more than 90% negative for all four years of his administraton.

And then there’s this: before Trump’s inauguration mainstream media knew the Steele Dossier couldn’t be verified, but they longed to publish it anyway, so, they used a staged briefing on the dossier by since-fired FBI Director James Comey to then-President-elect Donald Trump as cover to publish the dodgy dossier. In turn, Comey’s FBI then used that very press coverage to “verify” the dossier before the FISA Court to obtain FISA warrants for spying on President Trump’s administration. Talk about circular reasoning!

As determined by the Mueller Investigation, there was never evidence of Trump collusion with Russia to win the 2016 election. Nonetheless, mainstream media pushed the story for more than two years.

Last Thursday night President Trump called a press conference to call attention to reports of election cheating last week by Democrat operative in various states. Major TV networks however, had become so arrogant in their Trump hatred they cut away from his remarks and boldly declared the president was lying! Whenever they mention Trump’s various lawsuits, they preface their remarks with phrases like: “Although they have no evidence of election tampering, Trump’s lawyers…”

There are legitimate questions about how the vote-counting was done in several states last week. Remember, after the 2000 election, Vice President Gore had conceded, but then took back his concession. Media didn’t scoff at Gore’s claims. Media didn’t presume to declare the winner. The country waited. It took weeks for courts to determine how to legally count votes. Only after 37 days, Florida, and ultimately the electoral college, determined who won. What is the rush this time?

Here, two decades later, mainstream media are solidly in control of how people perceive what happened on November 3rd, and there’s no question about who they want to win, and today they have almost everyone calling him “President-elect Biden.”

Democrats, the Deep State, and their mainstream media allies never accepted that Trump won in 2016. For four years, they spied on him, sicced a special prosecutor on him, impeached him, and conducted opinion polls predicting a blue wave to sweep him out of office that didn’t materialize. They’re not about to tolerate anybody questioning the legitimacy of last week’s purported result.

PA and their 20 electoral votes will be reverted to Trump as the PA Supreme Court violated the PA law, plus additional fraudulent activities in Philly and Pitt.

Nevada has thousands of Californian residents with condos there who vote illegally in Nevada--keep an eye on this one.

AZ is also questionable.

So, this is not a done deal--Biden should not be counting his chickens just yet.

Having a hard time dealing with reality, are we? Taking your cues from the one-term failure of a President?

Face it, this election was called for the winner in exactly the same manner as past elections. The difference is that others, like Hillary in 2016 didn't make a fool of herself and speak out against democracy, demanding the votes shouldn't be counted, and contesting everything like the current spoiled brat who can't take losing. Imagine, Trump wanted to not count the votes of our overseas military members because they came in after election day!

Claiming, with no proof, that this was a "stolen" election is a horrible thing for our country and democracy. Pathetic. As Christie said, "look, if you have evidence, show us, we can't defend you with nothing". But many of Trump's sheep can defend this nonsense.

I love how Trump's dopey quotes give us so much laughter. After beating my daughter in cribbage yesterday my wife walked in and asked who won. My quick witted daughter came out with "I won....BY A LOT!". This will surely be the joking statement made by losers everywhere!

Anyway, keep it up. I am loving watching the squirming and fantasizing about multiple states be overturned! I am so hoping to see trespasser Trump being escorted from the White House next month!

It's a beautiful time in this country!!!!!!!

I wonder why this all powerful "deep state" allowed so many Republican Senators to win. They must have some secret agenda for keeping people like Mitch McConnell in power. Washington DC has never been swampier, but the main source is being washed away on January 20.

The title of your column is hilarious as well. To hear "What's the hurry" coming from the party that wanted to stop the election before all the votes were counted is good comedy. Trump is the one that declared he was the winner before the election was over. Biden waited patiently until it was actually over. And it is over. Don't worry, you are just going through the stages of grief:

denial.
anger.
depression.
acceptance.

I don't think some people are strong enough to reach the acceptance stage. I know Trump isn't. It takes an inner strength that some don't have.

Should Biden get his electoral voted certified, the crazy, left, liberals of the Democratic Party lost--thank goodness, they were nuts. So, having said this, regardless of which candidate wins, we must all require fair and honest elections. As the president gets his day in court, like Al Gore did, we will learn the truth of the matter. Until then, I conclude I remain more than curious how the democrats could not achieve a majority in the both houses of congress, yet win the presidency.

I wonder why it is that even the never-Trump defacto State newspaper of NH dumped the Associated Press as a "source" so long ago?

Ted, is it really that confusing to you why Trump was voted out, but the Republican party did pretty well? It's simple...because being such an egotistical, lying, A-hole stirs people into action. Either to support such behavior or to reject it. This was not about political parties. It was about decency and Democracy, between truth and lies. And the USA went out in record numbers and rejected the crap they were being dealt, with the most votes ever against a presidential candidate! It's a gloriously great day when our Democracy proves it can stand up to a wanna-be dictator and remove them from power. Despite their lies and propaganda! Truth wins! Science wins! Decency wins! Humanity wins!

I am sorry that ted and others have fallen for the excuse-making notion that our elections and our Democracy are not fair and honest. I am sorrier that they cannot see how a power hungry buffoon with no morals is soiling the name of our Democracy in his egomaniacal quest to defeat the will of the people.

The following is from a Frontpage Mag article written by Kenneth Timmerman:

The most pressing of these anomalies is the computer “glitch” announced by the Antrim County, Michigan, clerk of the court on Friday that caused a 6,000 vote surge for Biden in a county that Trump won handily in 2016. Once the “glitch” was corrected, those votes were credited to Trump.
According to Michigan GOP chairwoman Laura Cox, “since then, we have now discovered that 47 counties used this same software in the same capacity.” That’s more than half of Michigan’s 83 counties.
A similar “glitch” was identified by election officials in two Georgia counties on election day that halted voting for several hours. As in Michigan, the counties used voting machines made by Dominion Voting Systems and electronic poll books made by KnowInk. The companies “uploaded something last night, which is not normal, and it caused a glitch,” Spaulding County elections supervisor told Politico. “That is something that they don’t ever do. I’ve never seen them update anything the day before the election,” the supervisor added.

The Revenge of Clarence Thomas -- Bush v. Gore and the Facts Underlying The Pennsylvania Court Cases

The second consequential decision in Bush v. Gore was the concurring opinion written by Chief Justice Rehnquist, in which he addressed the implications of Art. II, Sec. 1, Cl. 2 of the Constitution on the actions of the Florida Supreme Court. That provision of the Constitution states that Presidential electors shall be selected in the manner determined by the “legislature” of each state.

If Chief Justice Roberts lines up with the three liberals, and there is a 5-4 vote to overturn the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s decision, the senior Justice in the majority determines who writes the Court’s Opinion. That would be Justice Thomas, and it is my prediction that in that event he would choose to write the opinion himself.

That is the reason for the headline above — the “Revenge of Clarence Thomas” on Joe Biden.

Speaking with Fox Business’ Lou Dobbs, Giuliani claimed that “almost none” of the hundreds of thousands of ballots were observed by Republican poll watchers. State election law requires the presence of poll watchers from all parties.

“We now are up to a count of about 650,000 ballots that are unlawful ballots that were cast in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh,” he said.

“What’s being said in the mass media, that we have no evidence, is a complete, absolute lie, just like they’ve been lying for years.”

Brian said...

"Giuliani claims"

Now there is a brilliant legal argument!

Giuliani also claimed, after being caught on film in Borat, that he was just "tucking in his shirt" while lying on the bed alone with a young lady. Guiliani almost rivals Trumps in the lying category.

https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/list/?speaker=rudy-giuliani&ruling=false

It's a lie that there is no evidence in widespread voting fraud? Then let's see it. Otherwise it is just more pathetic, spoiled baby antics that are disgracing our country and it's democracy. Embarrassing.

Even Fox News is shaming the administration. After McEnany began insisting, without offering evidence, that Democrats were "welcoming fraud" and "welcoming illegal voting," the network cut back to Cavuto.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa," he said. "I just think we have to be very clear: She's charging the other side as welcoming fraud and welcoming illegal voting. Unless she has more details to back that up, I can't in good countenance continue showing you this."

Wake up to reality.

Tom McLaughlin said...

That's why Fox News is hemorrhaging viewers for its daytime line-up. After enjoying viewership exceeding combined audience of CNN and MSNBC only weeks ago, it now trails both. Murdoch is panicking.

Oh, there is a big market for Trump Propaganda Fake News for sure. Probably Trump himself, if he avoids jail, will get into this business. Maybe restart the "Weekly World News" as a political paper. But you must realize how outrageous and bad for the country Trump's behavior must be that even Murdoch has to say "enough is enough", knowing that his rare display of integrity will cost him money.

But many are less concerned about the good of the country as they are in political victories, and being able to flaunt their side over the other. People look right passed blatant lies if they support their side. Pathetic.

Brian said...

Maybe now the Las Vegas newspaper run by a friend of Trumps, and who endorsed Trump, will also lose some money for reporting reality. The Las Vegas Review-Journal published an editorial Wednesday saying President Trump is seeking to "delay the inevitable."

An excerpt from the editorial says:

"There is no evidence, however, that fraud cost Mr. Trump the election, no matter how much the president tweets the opposite and his supporters wish it so. Mr. Trump would still trail in Pennsylvania even if mail-in ballots received after Election Day were discarded. He would remain well behind Mr. Biden in Nevada even if unverified GOP claims of thousands of illegal votes were dropped from the tally."
“It’s an insult to reason and logic to argue that isolated irregularities constitute proof of a grand national conspiracy.”

Man up, Trump, you lost. You and your buffoonish incompetent nasty ways were outvoted by millions and millions of Americans. Never have the American people voted against anybody or anything in such numbers. Crawl back to your failing businesses. The noise you are making about the election has become like an obnoxious toddler screaming at the grocery store...but since he is not our toddler anymore (Jan 20) we can easily ignore it, and even laugh about it's brattiness.

Steve said...

Mr. McLaughlin, what you’re effectively saying is Fox is hemorrhaging viewers in the daytime hours, because they’re beginning to report the news in a more responsible way.

Read this piece from Ben Ginsberg. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2020/11/01/ben-ginsberg-voter-suppression-republicans/ Ginsberg, who made a career out of researching and investigating voter fraud, helped steer the 2000 FL recount for Republicans and was one of the architects of the Swiftboat Veterans for Truth, harshly criticizes Trump and predicts all but doom for the party if they don’t disavow Trump. He sees the damage being done by those who attack the integrity of the elections. He sees the damage caused when Trump can so effortlessly convince 71+ million voters that the election was stolen. Ginsberg wrote this about the voter fraud Trump is convincing his followers exists, “Nearly every Election Day since 1984 I’ve worked with Republican poll watchers, observers and lawyers to record and litigate any fraud or election irregularities discovered. The truth is that over all those years Republicans found only isolated incidents of fraud. Proof of systematic fraud has become the Loch Ness Monster of the Republican Party. People have spent a lot of time looking for it, but it doesn’t exist.”

What sort of democracy do we have left when half the population is convinced, by the President no less, that the only honest election is one where a Republican wins? This is how Ginsberg concludes his editorial, “My party is destroying itself on the Altar of Trump. Republican elected officials, party leaders and voters must recognize how harmful this is to the party’s long-term prospects. My fellow Republicans, look what we’ve become. It is we who must fix this. Trump should not be reelected. Vote, but not for him.”

Never mind what Rudy tells you. Get online and research how Trump’s lawsuits are doing. In this article https://www.washingtonpost.com/investigations/philadelphia-republican-observers-vote-count/2020/11/06/982385ac-2055-11eb-ba21-f2f001f0554b_story.html Trump’s lawyers went before Judge Paul Diamond in Philadelphia to request the count be stopped claiming all Republican observers were removed from the facility. “Under sharp questioning from Judge Diamond, however, they conceded that Trump in fact had ‘a nonzero number of people in the room.’ leaving Diamond audibly exasperated. ‘I’m sorry, then what’s your problem?’” They struck a deal to have 60 observers from each party present. All the while, the vote count is being live streamed.

Judges, some appointed by George W, in NV, AZ, MI and PA have thrown out his lawsuits for lack of evidence and standing, while Trump convinces the Republican party that the election was stolen. Our election process has been sound for 244 years, through 2016 and 2018, but now out of nowhere, disparate groups of vigilante Democratic poll workers in multiple states, wordlessly working like an ant colony, all of a sudden begin altering hundreds of thousands of votes. I understand the impulse to WANT to believe something like this, I really do. It’s too juicy and tantalizing to ignore, but it just isn’t true.

What does it profit a man who gains the world but loses his soul? What does it profit a Republican who gains the presidency but loses the democracy? That’s where we’re headed.

PA Judge Rules Some Late Ballots Don't Count; Secretary Of State 'Lacked Authority' To Extend ID Deadline

The order is notably separate from a challenge to the PA Supreme Court decision to allow late ballots, and invalidates only those subject to Boockvar's extension to cure a lack of ID between Nov. 10-12.

"[T]he Court concludes that Respondent Kathy Boockvar, in her official capacity as Secretary of the Commonwealth, lacked statutory authority to issue the November 1, 2020, guidance to Respondents County Boards of Elections insofar as that guidance purported to change the deadline … for certain electors to verify proof of identification," wrote Judge Mary Hannah Leavitt in a court order.

Today’s PA court ruling is significant not because of the amount of ballots it affects but because it sets the legal precedent that PA’s Secretary of State did not have statutory authority to override election law. Neither did PA Supreme Court. Only legislature.

The skinny, say goodbye to PA Biden, more to follow. We will learn how the Dems cheated with outright fraud. Soon to come...AZ & GA

In a recent interview, FEC Chairman Trey Trainor said reports of fraud in some battleground states are credible “otherwise they would allow the [poll] observers to go in,” referring to reports of some polling areas refusing to allow GOP observers to check on the process on Election Day and the days after.

“When you have claims of, you know, 10,000 people who don’t live in the state of Nevada having voted in Nevada, you have the video... they’re (poll workers) either duplicating a spoiled ballot right there or they’re in the process of just marking a ballot that came in blank for a voter,” Trainor told Newsmax.

“That’s a process that needs to be observed by election observers.”

And to top off the humiliating loss he suffers the even greater embarrassment of not being able to man up and accept it. Trump has been described as repulsive. Bragging about sexual assault and ridiculing a war hero while being a draft dodger make repulsive an appropriate descriptor. But one aspect of him that doesn’t get the attention it deserves is his chronic infidelity. A lot of people probably dismiss it, after all, a lot of people cheat on their spouses, but there are layers to it beyond just the impact to the spouse. The betrayed spouse isn’t the only one who suffers. The children of the marriage suffer. Trump didn’t just hurt all three of his wives – Barron was in diapers when he was banging porn stars – he hurt his children. He hurt his children and denied them a true fatherly role model just so he could satisfy his own self-serving, prurient needs.

He lives to serve himself, irrespective of who or what he harms toward that end. There’s no lofty, noble goal from infidelity. He’s not Marc Anthony cavorting with Cleopatra to try and unify the world’s dominate empires. He just wanted to laid, and in so doing, he ruined his own families and repeatedly hurt his own children. He’s amoral and indifferent, which is a frightening combination. He will harm anyone and anything in the pursuit of his own needs and wants and is utterly indifferent to the harm it brings. How does a man come home through decades of infidelities and look his wives and children in the eyes? Do any of us truly believe he gives a flying feck about us?

I’m afraid to think of what a man so bereft of integrity and compassion could do with the entire federal government at his disposal, 71 million followers, a sycophantic Senate and nearly a half a billion dollars in personal debt coming due in the next four years. Water seeks its own level. With four more years in office, he would attract and seek out people just like him.

The man is a menace. He’s a menace to everyone and everything he comes into contact with. He destroys whatever he touches. There’s talk of him starting an online media outlet, and his first target is Fox. Imagine a Republican party where Fox news is too liberal and too measured in their reporting.

Brian said...

There are SO many things that Trump did that would have caused huge uproars by Trump supporters had Obama done them.

Imagine if Obama had accusations of rape and sexually harassing teenagers, and that there was tape of him admitting to "grabbing them by the pussy, because you can". Cheating on his wives? Can you imagine a scenario where Obama could talk sexually about either of his daughters, Sasha or Malia, saying that they’re so beautiful that he would date them if they weren’t related to him?

Can you imagine a situation of Obama being elected if he had a history of refusing to rent to white people? The attitude would be “the nerve of that &*($% for thinking he can stand in the way of good, hardworking white men and women from wanting to live in New York City.”

Can you imagine if Obama hung out on social media all day, tweeting, instead of doing his job? People would have decided that Obama was lazy and incompetent. Unwilling and unable to do anything but respond to every mean post about him and make childish insults about people.

Can you imagine a scenario where Obama could have ripped off thousands of Americans with a “too big to fail” Obama-University and still be seen as an honest and legitimate man?

Shady relations with Russia? Bromance with an adversarial authoritarian dictator?

Remember the constant attacks from the right about Obama's golfing?!? Suddenly not a peep about the president who golfs twice as much.

Imagine the fuss the right would make if Obama refused to release his tax returns. Reports of shady Muslim/terrorist financial ties would be rampant.

What if Obama had dissed the military like Trump?

If Obama had fired the FBI director who was leading an investigation into his campaign, Republican Party leadership would have accused him of obstructing justice and the far right would be frothing at the mouth.

If Obama's daughters had potentially benefited from a deal their father had done with a foreign country, Republican Party leadership would have demanded a thorough investigation into the President's family's business dealings.

If Obama had brought us to the current deficit conservatives would have gone nuts.

Biggest of all, had Obama lost an election and instead of conceding made up a crock of excuses and whined a like a little bit%#, the far right would go ballistic. But wait....Obama DIDN'T lose, because he was a great president. And he didn't have a scandal filled term. Republicans were forced to make petty complaints, getting outraged that Obama dared to wear a tan suit to a press conference! Imagine if Obama had saluted a general in the brutal North Korean military the way Trump did at the summit in Singapore.

Oh, but just wait until Biden does one silly thing!

The hypocrisy is off the charts.
