The Transgender Juggernaut

Last Saturday’s Conway Daily Sun reported on a “Drag Queen Story Hour” at the local public library scheduled for later this month. According to the national organization for drag queens who want to read books to children, the target demographic is children aged 3-8. Books that “may be read” include: "Jacob's New Dress" by Sarah and Ian Hoffman and "Morris Micklewhite and the Tangerine Dress.” Children must be accompanied by an adult so parental permission is assumed. If that’s something to which parents want to expose their kids, so be it.

It’s hard to see this as anything but a further assault on societal sexual norms. I mean it’s not as if homosexual men are suddenly dedicated to raising literacy rates. The library program is voluntary but elementary schools are mandatory and supported by our tax dollars. Similar homosexual propaganda is endorsed by teachers’ unions and education bureaucrats at all levels and we’re paying for it.

Just before I retired from teaching, I learned that a boy in the lower grades thought he was a girl. His parents evidently believed he was and insisted that everyone at the local elementary school behave as if he were. I figured I’d be gone before he got to my classroom and wouldn’t have to deal with the situation, and that’s the way it worked out. All elementary staff used female pronouns and he used the girls’ bathroom. I don’t know how long his confusion lasted and I wondered if the parents went ahead with puberty-blocking drugs and penis amputation for him as well.

Perhaps the boy overcame his confusion. Seventy or eighty percent do according to brave psychiatrists not afraid to speak out, but when everyone with whom a sexually confused young person comes in contact cooperates with the pretense it will likely persist. I felt bad for the little boy because the rate of suicide attempts for so-called transgenders was and is higher than 40%. The LGBTQIA (and whatever other letters have added to the ever-expanding acronym) lobby insists it’s because of discrimination by people who continue to maintain that humans are male and female and cannot switch sex on a whim.

Others dispute that. According to Daniel Payne writing in the Federalist: “[I]t utterly ignores the most salient feature of transgender individuals: that they are mentally ill and need serious treatment. This is not a moral or ethical judgment. It is, rather, a fact. Individuals who believe they are a different sex than that of their biology are psychologically ill—self-evidently so—and one would quite reasonably expect a higher suicide rate from a portion of the population that suffers from so significant a mental illness (particularly a mental illness it is fashionable to indulge rather than treat).”

It was possible that a sexually confused student might transfer into my class and I resolved that I would not call her “him” or him “her” even if school authorities insisted and if I were fired I’d sue. I didn’t want to hurt the student’s feelings but I had a responsibility to other students. If I went along I’d signal that I believed it was possible to change from male to female or vice versa, and I didn’t. I wouldn’t pretend to admire the emperor’s new clothes or Morris’s tangerine dress as it were. I would resist the education Thought Police as well.

Mainstream media ignore developments counter to the LGBTQIA narrative so you’re not likely to read about so-called “transgenders” who regret their transition and seek to reverse their surgery. The Daily Wire quotes Professor Miroslav Djordjevic of Belgrade, one of the world’s leading genital reconstructive surgeons: “Definitely reversal surgery and regret in transgender persons is one of the very hot topics. Generally, we have to support all research in this field.” But universities will not fund it because it counters the LGBTQIA narrative.

Last week, Maine Governor Janet Mills signed a bill banning “conversion therapy” defined as: “any practice or treatment that seeks or claims to change an individual’s sexual orientation or gender identity.” Maine therapists could lose their license if they help a child accept his/her biological sex. Canada’s Supreme Court ruled last month that a parent must allow his 14-year-old daughter to receive male hormone injections. Last year, an Ohio judge removed a female child from her parents’ custody because they refused to allow hormone injections.

Last year, Brown University Assistant Professor Lisa Littman MD published a research study on ROGD — “Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria” in PLOS One a peer-reviewed scientific journal. Among her findings: “Parents describe that the onset of gender dysphoria seemed to occur in the context of belonging to a[an adolescent female] peer group where one, multiple, or even all of the friends have become gender dysphoric and transgender-identified during the same timeframe.” To this former teacher of adolescent girls, her conclusions seemed eminently plausible.

Littman was vilified by the LGBTQIA lobby for “using transphobic dogwhistles” because she pulled the rug out from under the fashionable transgender juggernaut now getting its nose in the tent of the Conway Public Library.

Another great piece . . .

Examination of biological concepts definitively proves that there are only two genders.

Hard to take anything serious regarding this issue from somebody ignorant enough to believe homosexuality is a choice.

I don't think he said that.

Interesting the movement behind the scenes to not allow counselors/therapists to help those caught up in the gender confusion. Why is that? What are they afraid of? I know there's many out there who have come forward trying to speak out to warn others this is not going to make them happy. These are former trans/homosexuals who have gone back to their biological born sex as created by God. They are muffled. Not allowed to speak. The media is very anti-ex trans/homosexuals. They are pushing an agenda. It's obvious. In order to change a generation you go for the children. It's basic. The question is why? What is the motivation behind all this?

I foresee lots of lawsuits in the near future of children who have had body parts taken off by money hungry "doctors/surgeons" and parents who were enabling young children's fantasies.

I know one young girl 15 years old terribly hurt by her absent father decided she wanted to trans into a man. She ran away to the West Coast where a doctor gladly helped her transition by removing her two breasts. Her mother is heartbroken. What's going to happen when the daughter wakes up at 25 and says "what have I done?" I was told by a lawyer who works such cases he's waiting to help this family when the daughter realizes what she's done. Until then, he can't help this shocked mother.

When I was growing up, the outlet for whatever was bothering young kids (especially girls) was cutting. I knew a girl who cut. Now it's morphed into cutting off body parts. The counselors being shut up is exactly what these kids need and now that's being yanked from them. This is evil. Sinister.

To Anon.....he has said it in past posts.

Relating cutting to sex change operations is just plain dopey. But I do agree that it is evil and sinister to try and interfere with people's sexuality, calling them "mentally ill" and ignorantly treating them like they can't think and feel for themselves.

Get over it and worry about your own lives.

Here is what Robert Spitzer had to say about publishing his 2003 study of highly religious individuals who said their sexual orientation was changed by reparative therapy:

"I believe I owe the gay community an apology for my study making unproven claims of the efficacy of reparative therapy. I also apologize to any gay person who wasted time and energy undergoing some form of reparative therapy because they believed that I had proven that reparative therapy works with some "highly motivated" individuals."

Great article, Tom. Our state legislature is full of deranged Leftists and pantywaist Republicans for passing a bill banning conversion therapy (among many other bad progressive bills).

Remember the 60’s saying that, “The issue is never the issue; the issue is always the [Marxist] revolution”? The Left is out to destroy our history, our culture, our freedom and our republic. Make no mistake about that! However, conservatives will not be silenced.

Brian need not respond. I don’t take direction or advice from trolls.

Brian said...

Sure you do....the biggest troll in the world is Trump.

Brian said...

And what you really meant was "I don't listen to anything that disturbs the fantasy within my bubble."

Trump, who will win a 2nd term, is one of the best presidents in U.S. history. I can't wait until the Obama cabal are all in prison.

My bubble extends from Maine to Florida and I've traveled to over 60 countries. You should listen to Ray Richardson at WLOB AM to learn what's going on in our state and Rush Limbaugh to understand the Deep State.

Btw, I didn't mention it in my previous post but these LGBTQ folks in the photo are FREAKS. Is that your future for the country? Never mind, I know the answer.

Brian said...

In the real world Trump will undoubtedly go down in history as a crooked buffoon and the worst president in history. How does your bubble deal with the fact that there has never been a president with such horrendous approval ratings? There is a pretty good chance he does some prison time. The Obama "cabal" is conspiracy lunacy....laughable.

As for the "freaks", isn't it interesting how Tom posts pictures of them every chance he gets. Another Ted Haggard?

Gosh, I'm so old, I remember when the "cool" and "trendy" thing for teenage high school girls to do for attention was become an unwed mother (Gloucester Ma.? )

Liberalism is a "mental disorder"?

More like being on the Far Right is a morality disorder.

And I remember when the "cool" and "trendy" thing to do by the future pricks of America was to bully gays and call them fags. Now the same people are trying to control the bodies of others and prevent them from living how they want. It's not your business, get over it.

In an attempt to figure out what on earth it is that makes some feel threatened by transgenders, or for whatever reason want to butt in (pun intended) to people's private affairs, I found this article in Psychology Today:

https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/inclusive-insight/201809/what-precisely-do-transgender-people-threaten

In sums up by saying:

"Finally, it is important to emphasize that a transgender individual’s gender expression is not responsible for eliciting the prejudice of others. Rather, transprejudice stems from an internal process in which the person holding the prejudice experiences a threat to an aspect of their own identity, and thus lashes out against trans individuals as a means of trying to reaffirm the boundaries surrounding important aspects how they define their identity – in this case, their gender."

WOW! They say all KINDS of things in the Hello Kitty of "pop psychology" magazine!

The response from "The School" was amusing.

Yeah, wow. Encouraging to see an article like that in Psychology Today. My wife gets it and I usually can't stand to read very much of it because of its far left biases. I'll be checking out the comments section next issue. I bet the poor guy gets pilloried out there in the land of fruits and nuts, the formerly Golden State.

Very telling that Tom responded to that post. It goes to show that when he hides like a sissy from questions that challenge his mindset it is because he has no counter and not because he has no time. It also reveals that like the "MSM", Psychology Today will let all sides be heard. The simple reason for why these types of views are not heard very often from legitimate sources is because, like with global warming, these opinions are so rare in the world of legitimate experts, scientists, doctors, etc. It is incredibly hypocritical to champion the rare article you agree with and at the same time pretend the vast majority of the articles, which you disagree with, are biased nonsense. Thanks for the revealing glimpse into the head of a bubbleonian.

"he hides like a sissy from questions that challenge his mindset it is because he has no counter," claims Brian.

I've challenged you to come onto my Left and Right TV program several times and debate face-to-face in public, to discuss any subject you wish at length. I've offered to modify the filming schedule to accommodate you. Nonetheless, you always find a reason why you can't.

Who, Brian, is the sissy?

You're very obviously a troll assigned by the left to this site, and I'll continue to ignore you until you man up and come on the show.

Brian said...

If I am ever in your area at the right time it would be a pleasure, but for now there is no excuse for you to avoid questions...you obviously have the time. I call that being a sissy.

And you really think that your blog has caught the attention of some secret liberal organization that assigns trolls?!? Talk about living in a fantasy world.

Tom McLaughlin said...

This is me ignoring you.

That is what sissies are good at. Ignore what is outside your bubble.

Here is another blatant example of the Trump administration trying to suppress information and create their own reality. So much for respecting the military.

"White House blocked intelligence agency’s written testimony on climate change"

WASHINGTON — White House officials barred a State Department intelligence agency from submitting written testimony this week to the House Intelligence Committee warning that human-caused climate change could be ‘‘possibly catastrophic.’’ The move came after State officials refused to excise the document’s references to federal scientific findings on climate change.

The effort to edit, and ultimately suppress, the prepared testimony by the State Department’s Bureau of Intelligence and Research comes as the Trump administration is debating how best to challenge the fact that burning fossil fuels is warming the planet and could pose serious risks unless the world makes deep cuts in greenhouse gas emissions over the next decade. Senior military and intelligence officials have continued to warn climate change could undermine America’s national security.

Tom, you write "I mean it’s not as if homosexual men are suddenly dedicated to raising literacy rates." And my response to that is : It's not like Tom suddenly cares about LGBT children." Your article is so ridiculous and I am very pleased that The Conway Daily Sun finally came to their senses and decided to not publish your continuous anti-gay agenda. So many points in your article are poorly thought out and plain ignorant but the most glaring is this idea that the suicide rate of transgenders actually proves your point that they are mentally ill because they are transgender. Hello?!?!? They have a high suicide rate because of people like you! Because of a society who continuously marginalizes them, family members who abandon them and neighbors who shun them. I worked with LGBT kids in New York City---these kids had been kicked out of their homes, pushed onto the streets and left to deal with all type of terrible situations. All they needed was love and support. I have many transgender friends who have received that love and support and they are living productive and happy lives. YOU ARE WRONG TOM and your way of thinking is why drag queen story is needed. Thank god that little girl didn't have you as a teacher - she lucked out. I have no idea why you spend so much of your time and intellect pushing your ignorant and hurtful agenda. You seem like a smart person with many interests. Can't you just leave the LGBT community alone? Isn't it enough? I mean take more trips to Ireland, spend more time taking photos, enjoy your family and your lovely property in Maine.
