It’s chilling. As the curtain lifts, a little here, a little there, we see the tyrannical left cementing itself in big government - and it gives me shivers. The most leftist administration in American history has been using the Internal Revenue Service to harass conservatives. It’s been lying about radical Muslim terrorism, and spying on the press. What else is it doing? Based just on what we know already, there are bound to be serious consequences. As more is learned, we may be looking at a sea change.
What kinds of consequences? Drastically-increasing polarization of left and right at all levels is a given, and that could take many forms. In government, Republicans will push for a special prosecutor to investigate the IRS and that has the most serious implications for the Obama Administration. Nixon talked about it using the IRS to harass enemies, but didn’t do it. The Obama Administration has been actually doing it for at least two years, but there's no evidence yet that he talked about it. It’s too early to speculate about impeachment, but if evidence of White House involvement pops up, it’s not unthinkable. What’s concerning now is reaction at the grass roots. Americans are rapidly losing faith in government.
Gun and ammunition purchases rose when Obama was elected and have been absolutely skyrocketing with his renewed gun control push. Legislation has been stopped so far, but there aren’t enough guns or ammunition anymore for people who want them. That raises suspicion for Americans who increasingly fear government. They see a president who slandered them as “bitterly clinging to their guns and religion," then rammed Obamacare down their throats. Obamacare spawned the Tea Party which elected a group of representatives to Congress in 2010 to block Obama’s left-wing agenda. And now they’ve been singled out for harassment by the by the enormous powers of the IRS? This is serious - very serious. They’re convinced Obama violated their rights to get himself reelected.
Labeled “racist” and “bigoted” by Democrats, the Tea Party staged peaceful, law-abiding demonstrations and even cleaned up after themselves, unlike their “Occupy” counterparts on the left which trashed cities around the country, conspired to blow up a bridge in Ohio, then rioted in Seattle, San Francisco and elsewhere on May 1st of 2012 and 2013. Obama officials and their allies in Congress have made clear which side they support - and it’s not the Tea Party. Now we’re expected to believe that nobody in the White House knew anything about IRS harassment. How stupid do they think we are?
When Bloomberg News’ Juliana Goldman asked him last Thursday afternoon: “Can you assure the American people that nobody in the White House knew about the [IRS] agency’s actions before your White House’s counsel’s office found out on April 22?”
“Let me make sure I answer your specific question,” Obama said - and then he dodged it: “I can assure you that I certainly did not know anything about the IG report before the IG report had been leaked through the press,” he answered, saying nothing about any White House knowledge about which is what she asked.
He thinks we’re all fools out here.
At Thanksgiving dinners and Fourth of July picnics, have you heard relatives say they distrust government so much that they stock up on guns and ammunition? Maybe you thought they were over-reacting. Did they complain that the Department of Homeland Security was buying up more than a billion rounds of ammunition and thousands of light-armored tanks? Maybe you thought they were paranoid, but they were your relatives and so you tried to change the subject or you turned on a football game.
After the admission by the IRS about Tea Party groups, after accusations that they harassed pro-life Catholics, harassed groups opposing homosexual “marriage” or teaching the Constitution, harassed pro-Israel Jews, harassed Evangelical Protestants, harassed journalists who ask Obama tough questions, searched phone records and emails of other journalists and harassed many other conservatives with audits and intrusive, voluminous questionnaires - do you still think they’re over-reacting? Maybe you’re starting to wonder: Did the IRS really ask conservatives what candidates they support? What books they read? What they said in their prayers? Did they actually require pro-life groups to promote abortion? Yes, they did.
Now consider this: Sarah Ingram, the IRS lady who oversaw the harassment of conservatives got over $100,000 in bonuses, and now she’s been promoted and charged with implementing Obamacare. Who will she put in charge of determining how much medical care conservatives get? Michael Moore? Bill Ayers? Will they be on her death panels?
This trio of scandals offers an ugly view of left-wing tyranny perpetrated by the Democrats running our federal government. It’s the biggest threat to freedom Americans have faced since I can’t remember when. It must be stopped.
As Peggy Noonan put it: “If it’s not stopped now, it will never stop.”

Interested to read what the Kool Aid Drinkers have to say in response to this. Hope they start to wake up and smell the Tyranny that has been creeping in like mold on Bread.
These folks are not going to like what they are going to get. Somebody is pulling Mr. Obama's strings and we will pay for it dearly. Kiss your freedoms goodbye.
A tyranny does not care who voted for it, everyone will suffer. You will learn to regret your noble crusade in electing a black man, this one in particular.

My guess is that anonymous # 3 is actually Tom expressing his real feelings and showing his true racist colors.
Wow. The American morons played like fiddles.
We exist in an increasing corporate fascist state. The elite use the farce of two, party politics to keep the proles occupied. So, rather than protest and revolt they blame one of two factions controlled by the corporations and mega banks. Simple really. When eyes are opened.
The worst thing we can do now is to continue to lay THEIR game. Eschew the bullshit "political party" you have been forced to choose and demand rea change. Rise up or die. We are battling a corproate juggernaut. This isn't about democrats and republicans, unless you are twelve years old.
Tom. The demonization of the occupy protest is exactly what they want. Use your imagination, please. Occupy was filled with shills and bogus reporting. Of course there were elements that were detrimental to the cause.
Do you realize how wrong you are yet? It's guys like you who need to wake people up. Not continue to'perepetuate the two party lie!
Clinging to some bs policial ideology in the face of such evil and corrupt behavior by the "govt" is useless stupid and INEFFECTIVE!!
What would Jesus say to dropping drone bombs on little kids?

Rise up or Die
..."What has taken place in these sacrifice zones—in postindustrial cities such as Camden, N.J., and Detroit, in coalfields of southern West Virginia where mining companies blast off mountaintops, in Indian reservations where the demented project of limitless economic expansion and exploitation worked some of its earliest evil, and in produce fields where laborers often endure conditions that replicate slavery—is now happening to much of the rest of the country. These sacrifice zones succumbed first. You and I are next.
Corporations write our legislation. They control our systems of information. They manage the political theater of electoral politics and impose our educational curriculum. They have turned the judiciary into one of their wholly owned subsidiaries. They have decimated labor unions and other independent mass organizations, as well as having bought off the Democratic Party, which once defended the rights of workers. With the evisceration of piecemeal and incremental reform—the primary role of liberal, democratic institutions—we are left defenseless against corporate power.
The Department of Justice seizure of two months of records of phone calls to and from editors and reporters at The Associated Press is the latest in a series of dramatic assaults against our civil liberties. The DOJ move is part of an effort to hunt down the government official or officials who leaked information to the AP about the foiling of a plot to blow up a passenger jet. Information concerning phones of Associated Press bureaus in New York, Washington, D.C., and Hartford, Conn., as well as the home and mobile phones of editors and reporters, was secretly confiscated. This, along with measures such as the use of the Espionage Act against whistle-blowers, will put a deep freeze on all independent investigations into abuses of government and corporate power.
Seizing the AP phone logs is part of the corporate state’s broader efforts to silence all voices that defy the official narrative, the state’s Newspeak, and hide from public view the inner workings, lies and crimes of empire. The person or persons who provided the classified information to the AP will, if arrested, mostly likely be prosecuted under the Espionage Act. That law was never intended when it was instituted in 1917 to silence whistle-blowers. And from 1917 until Barack Obama took office in 2009 it was employed against whistle-blowers only three times, the first time against Daniel Ellsberg for leaking the Pentagon Papers in 1971. The Espionage Act has been used six times by the Obama administration against government whistle-blowers, including Thomas Drake..."
.."The government’s fierce persecution of the press—an attack pressed by many of the governmental agencies that are arrayed against WikiLeaks, Bradley Manning, Julian Assange and activists such as Jeremy Hammond—dovetails with the government’s use of the 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force to carry out the assassination of U.S. citizens; of the FISA Amendments Act, which retroactively makes legal what under our Constitution was once illegal—the warrantless wiretapping and monitoring of tens of millions of U.S. citizens; and of Section 1021 of the National Defense Authorization Act, which permits the government to have the military seize U.S. citizens, strip them of due process and hold them in indefinite detention. These measures, taken together, mean there are almost no civil liberties left.
A handful of corporate oligarchs around the globe have everything—wealth, power and privilege—and the rest of us struggle as part of a vast underclass, increasingly impoverished and ruthlessly repressed. There is one set of laws and regulations for us; there is another set of laws and regulations for a power elite that functions as a global mafia.
We stand helpless before the corporate onslaught. There is no way to vote against corporate power. Citizens have no way to bring about the prosecution of Wall Street bankers and financiers for fraud, military and intelligence officials for torture and war crimes, or security and surveillance officers for human rights abuses. The Federal Reserve is reduced to printing money for banks and financiers and lending it to them at almost zero percent interest; corporate officers then lend it to us at usurious rates as high as 30 percent. I do not know what to call this system. It is certainly not capitalism. Extortion might be a better word. The fossil fuel industry, meanwhile, relentlessly trashes the ecosystem for profit. The melting of 40 percent of the summer Arctic sea ice is, to corporations, a business opportunity. Companies rush to the Arctic and extract the last vestiges of oil, natural gas, minerals and fish stocks, indifferent to the death pangs of the planet. The same corporate forces that give us endless soap operas that pass for news, from the latest court proceedings surrounding O.J. Simpson to the tawdry details of the Jodi Arias murder trial, also give us atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide that surpass 400 parts per million. They entrance us with their electronic hallucinations as we waiver, as paralyzed with fear as Odysseus’ sailors, between Scylla and Charybdis.
It is time to build radical mass movements that defy all formal centers of power and make concessions to none. It is time to employ the harsh language of open rebellion and class warfare. It is time to march to the beat of our own drum. The law historically has been a very imperfect tool for justice, as African-Americans know, but now it is exclusively the handmaiden of our corporate oppressors; now it is a mechanism of injustice. It was our corporate overlords who launched this war. Not us. Revolt will see us branded as criminals. Revolt will push us into the shadows. And yet, if we do not revolt we can no longer use the word “hope.”
Herman Melville’s “Moby-Dick” grasps the dark soul of global capitalism. We are all aboard the doomed ship Pequod, a name connected to an Indian tribe eradicated by genocide, and Ahab is in charge. “All my means are sane,” Ahab says, “my motive and my object mad.” We are sailing on a maniacal voyage of self-destruction, and no one in a position of authority, even if he or she sees what lies ahead, is willing or able to stop it. Those on the Pequod who had a conscience, including Starbuck, did not have the courage to defy Ahab. The ship and its crew were doomed by habit, cowardice and hubris. Melville’s warning must become ours. Rise up or die.
Uhm, were you as outraged when w and Cheney started this assault on our civil liberties? No doubt obama has ramped it up.. Big time. In addition, the drone program. Again, started under Cheney and intensified by Obama. Yet then"liberals" seem to be justifying outright murder! All of them, Cheney, W, and Barak Obama are guilty of war crimes! We do not have the authority to drop drone bombs in countries we aren't at war with! This is somehow deterring terrorism towards the usa? Really? Its out right evil.
Obama and Ndaa. Again started previously and signed by Obama. Wiretapping. Etc.

Exactly Winston! Though you won't find anyone on this blog with the intestinal fortitude to rise up. These spineless half wits would rather regurgitate corporate talking points and demonize those that fight for true freedom. Pathetic and sack less morons all. Apparently mesmerized by the myth that somehow choosing one of two groups to belong to is somehow a demonstration of freedom! Ha!
We are doomed.
I see the Occupy Anarchy wing of the Democrat Party has dispatched Ted to comment here.
Rise up or die? What do you mean "rise up"? Are you fomenting revolution?
Did you read the article posted above? Apparently not.
It's good to know Winston and Ted are saving our freedoms, one rural Maine blog at a time.
Well Sami it is not Tom and if you don't see Mr. Obama is a Black man your really are in denial. #3
And what's your answer tom......??
..Vote?
Hahahahahahaha
Tom sucks at the teats of his beloved corporations - the very corporations that have ruthlessly taken control of the world. The Far Right talking heads have told him to bow at their alter, so he kneels and bleats. How dare you suggest that they are the problem and that the downtrodden should rise up against them!
How can you people not realize that the one and only true problem with our country is the Democratic party, and that devil Obama in particular.
Republicans = Good
Democrats = Evil
I'ts simple.
At least it is to a simpleton.
Gary, you are as guilty as Tom is. You're missing the point. There is no left. There is no right. In theory only and in rhetoric only. So people like you will keep plying the blame game.
Don't make the mistake that there is a philosophical difference between the two. Corporate bankster elite use this system, to divide and conquer.
Don't you see? So called liberals justifying drone murders of innocent women and children! sickening. The assault on our rights begun under W has been intensified under obama. That's all you need to know.
Stop, listening to the fancy speeches and pay attention to the actions . Obama is a Bankster puppet of the worst kind.
Ask Bradley manning what he thinks of Obama.
Ted, although I agree that the 2-party system is a ridiculous joke and that both parties cater to Big Business, there are issues that the the parties differ on. It may not matter which party is in power in regards to being led down a disastrous path towards a miniscle, all-powerful minority dominating the masses, but I'd rather have equality for gays, scientific evidence about climate change to not be ignored, and background checks for guns along the way.
You can argue that if a plane is crashing it does not matter what they fed you, or how they treated you during the flight, but I disagee. That just makes every moment more precious.
As for Obama and drones. Horrific. No excuse. Charges for crimes against humanity would be ok by me.
I don't understand the notion that we should not be fighting for small victories even as we fight the Two-Headed Beast that make up our political parties.
Gary---- it's all rhetoric. At this point in history, right now, gay rights is not relevant. Sorry. Important? Absolutely. But not at the top,of the list. It's a distraction issue. We are sending our young to slaughter in a fake war on terror so that corporations can make money. We are profiteering! There is no war on terror! We have a federal reserve that is not federal printing money at will. Wall Street bankers? Not one in jail. Not one. Fast and furious? Wiretapping? Bradley manning? Gitmo? We are overtaxed. We can't provide healthcare for our own. Our veterans get treated like shit.
Etc. and on and on. So, gay marriage? Are you kidding me?
Gun control? A fabricated bs pr campaign by an increasingly scared corproate fascist state that wants a de- armed population. Another non issue relentlessly pushed by the corporate media.
Climate change? Seriously? Come on..yet another topic meant to distract and evoke a dualistic paradigm of right and wrong. The hubris to think that we can actually tell wtf is actually going on is insane. I have no idea what's going on with the climate. Maybe it has to do with that thing we call the sun? And of course we need to act responsibly toward the environment and utilize new means of energy production.
Again---- ya think haliburton and Enron and the rest of these global billion dollar corporations are pushing an agenda?
Read the whole Chris hedges article posted above. The full version is at truthdig.com
So, no to answer you, there are not real differences between the two fake parties. It's a lie. It's a dog and pony show, or akin to the WWF---- pretend to hate each other in public and out having a beer afterwards.
It's time to stop pretending
You are missing the point, Ted. Yes, the young are being sent to slaughter for profit. Yes, Wall Street is doi ng whatever the F they want with no consequences. Why does that mean we should ignore other problems that are not as important??? Gay marraige is VERY important to some people. One could easily argue that these civil right issues are MORE important than crooked bankers.
As for climate change, if you really don't believe the massive evidence that the world's scientists have gathered, then the Enron propaganda has worked on you. Just because YOU don't understand climate change (or quantom physics, etc) does not mean that scientists do not. Scientists don't just stare at the sky and say, "Hmmm, it is something to do with the sun". Of course Enron and others have an agenda - to keep sucking up profits at the expense of the environment and future generations. One could easily argue that this is even more important than the young being sent to slaughter.
It is time to stop pretending that issues you don't understand, or issues that aren't important to you, are not vitally important to others, and to the world as we know it.
Thanks. That explains it all. Let me see....do I want to support gay marriage or ending an absurd war on terror? Hmmm??? Lets see---- put my energy behind ending the federal reserve, which, make no mistake, is the sole problem with the economy, or gay marriage?
Etc. etc.
What do you think those in control want you to focus on? Ndaa? fast and furious? drones?Their own illegal activity and profiteering or gay marriage? Hello!!!
Climate change? With no jobs, no money no health care a dwindling infrastructure and GMO poisonous foods who cares? It's irrelevant...again, the hubris.....unreal
Orwell was right on....
Ted, you still don't get it. Why do you have to choose which one you want to support, civil rights or an obscene war? Why can't you do both?
And how does having no job, no health care, and a dwindling infrastructure make climate change irrelevant? That makes me care a hell of a lot MORE about climate change and the environment....what else have you got at that point? I have been trying to get more and more "off the grid" so as to be unaffected by matters like evil bankers, but if they frack up my water supply and screw up my environment and my climate....
Also, I still hold fast to the idea that basic civil rights takes precedent over things like the federal reserve and the economy. As horrible as they may be, first comes human dignity. Do you think slaves gave a rat's ass about the economy?
Why do I/we have to choose? First, we DON'T have a choice! None. That's the point!!! Hello!
Gay marriage, and the rest of the emotionally charged issues are used, via the media, to distract from the real issues! Get it? It's not a matter of importance. They are crafting the headlines for a reason! Six corporations own ALL the media you get your " news" from. Does that sound like a free society to you? And can you connect the dots?
By the way, if gay marriage is more important to you than the invasion of a foreign country under false pretenses that kills innocent civilians and u.s.soldiers than we are truly doomed. Tell the families of the innocent victims, and our own wounded veterans , that you were going to protest the war but gay marriage was more important..
Wow....
The federal reserve runs your life. Every iota of it. If you dont understand that than bone up. cause you should. You don't have the luxury, yet, of worrying about "civil rights".
Do I think slaves cared about the economy? Uhm, yeah they kinda did, you see, they were taken because of it! Hello!
And, We ourselves are debt slaves! No joke. Slaves to the federal reserve. It doesn't, in fact, cannot, get more important in a capitalist society than the institution that controls the money flow!!! It sucks, I know...
" Give me control of a nations money and I care not who makes its laws" Mayer Rothschild
Where do I start?
First, how many entities controlled the media in the time of Ben Franklin? Probably there were less than 6. Plus, we can get our news from thousands of sources nowadays.....how and why did the all-powerful government allow us access to the internet?
And by the way, if whatever wars are going on now are more important to you than basic human rights, then you are putting the horse before the cart. These wars are being fought BECAUSE of the lack of human rights, because those in power are putting financial gain before human rights.
As for the slaves, if they had had their civil rights than they wouldn't have been allowed to be enslaved in the first place. How can you not see that these rights are not what it all boils down to? The right to be treated equally. The right to not have rich bankers, or anybody, be treated differently.
And what the hell does it matter what asshole bankers, or the federal reserve, or politicians do if our planet gets so fucked up that we can't live in it?
I truly feel sorry for you if "every iota" of your life is controlled by the federal reserve. There is way more to life than what they can control. They are evil and must be brought down, but in the meantime get some spunk. Don't let the bastards grind you down.
ooops, I should have that civil rights ARE what it all boils down to. Typing too fast....
well Ted, it is obvious we are never going to agree. We both have our priorities (human rights vs the evils of financial institutions) and, although I believe we are both fighting for the same ultimate cause, we have fundamental differences at our cores. I am much more of an optimist than you, iy seems. I can hear you scoff, and ask what is there to be optimistic about... You seem to think they have already won. You talk about them controlling every iota of your life.....sorry man, but you are talking like you are already their bitch.
Why be optimistic? Yeah, there is tiny little majority "in power", working the system in their favor and pissing all over the masses. Go way way back in history. Yup, they did it then too.....kings, lords, land barons, dictators, czars, and so on, they ruled the land with a much greater iron fist than they are able to get away with today. How can you argue? If you think these rulers were not much more outrightly beheading and taking what they wanted from the people then our presidents and CEOs are capable of today, you need to bone up on history. Sure they are trying very hard to become more powerful, but give the Constitution and the power of the the people some more credit. Buck up, man. They don't control you, you DO have a choice, you CAN worry about human rights, we CAN beat these SOB's....
Rise up? It means fight the corporate state we exist in.
Tomorrow is the march gainst Monsanto.
I urge all you to march against this evil corporate juggernaut that has carte blacnhe in d.c. And the rest of the world.
They just bought black water, yeah the mercenary army.
Monsanto is ruining the American farmer and our food supply. GMO foods are not what we need or want.
March against Monsanto! Or, stay home and make fun of the Americans with enough guts to stand up for what's right and just.
Make no mistake. Monsanto has democrats and republicans In their pocket. They need to go.
Research how many presidential cabinet members, FDA officials have worked at Monsanto.
This is where our focus needs to be. Against the corporate state---- not some controlled opposition.
If you care about food and freedom( how can you not?)
Be there!
Winston, I know there will be a march in Concord and portsmouth....is there a march scheduled nearer to the Conway area?
Hey get your facts right man. Those "occupy" protesters were FBI patsies. Please.....the FBI orchestrated the whole thing! Come on.....
You peddle this corporate nonsense like its "news".. It ain't.
Will you ever get it?
" gee why would the govt want to demonize protesters...?"
If any of you care about food march on Monsanto today.
If you have children and or grand kids march in Monsanto! You don't want GMO food to be part of your kids diet!
Monsanto and GMO foods are evil cancerous garbage!
This is the face of corporate greed and they run the show, a perfect example of how Monsanto, a corporation, dictates law and policy----- not democrats or republicans.
They have filled D.C. With their influence, from the Oval Office to the FDA. Conflict of interest anyone?
Or, stay home and pretend nothing's wrong. Just a bunch of hippies protesting, huh? How dare they....
And Gary, I don't know. Portland maine is where I will be
If you don't like their food, Winston, don't buy it.
Corporations can't put you in jail. Government can. The IRS can.
You can form your own corporation and make organic food if that's your thing. March against Monsanto? Go ahead. That's your right. Bring an umbrella.
You obviously have no idea what this corp. is capable of.
Nor it's agenda and its unjust influence in govt. not a clue.
You predictably fall victim to two party thinking and mention organic. It's not about " organic" which is pretty much just a marketing term anymore anyway, it doesn't really mean anything. It's about patenting nature and the ability to sue a farmer because the wind blew a god damn Monsanto round up ready seed onto his land. It's about controlling the food supply with poisonous crap. Its about power and profit. They own black water now! Uhm......
It ain't about some hippy and "organic" food. Wake up.
Corporations can't put you in jail? What? You still think this isn't a corporate state we exist in? Really? Wow. How many lobbyists are in d.c.? How many? Hmm?
Don't buy it if I don't like it? Tom, the point is that they soon will have a monopoly on the food we all eat! If one company owns all the corn seed, wheat, soy seed, etc. then it's in EVERYTHING! We won't have a choice! Duh...
Go back to sleep..
Yawn, ZZZZZZ.
And there it is..big surprise.
Nothing.
Just hope your grand kids don't get cancer from their food.
And, hey, way to stand up for the American farmer.
Winston--- Tom doesn't know any better. Doesn't know enough to care. He's too embroiled in the two party farce! He is the poster boy for mindless corporate America--- brainwashed by the two, party lie. Can't even see its a corporate state we exist in. Food supply? I've got more important things to whine about ( like what, I'd love to know?). No to mention its far more than just food we are talking about here. Seeds, patents, poison, and why would an agriculture company need a private army? They bought black water!!. Gee tom why did Europe ban GMO foods in some places? It's called science!
I pray your family doesn't get any cancer. If this doesn't concern you than we are certainly doomed!
May want to smell the coffee here tom, for your grand kids sake it's worth the time and effort to do your own research. You clearly have no idea what Monsanto is capable of or their influence on US laws and policy.
------------------------------
"Now they have expanded into violating individual rights by controlling our food supply by producing GMOs and forcing lawmakers to pass laws that protect them where citizens don’t have a right to know where it is going despite independent research showing how deadly GMOs are.
Just like nuclear poison found in nuclear reactors and nuclear bombs produced by the military, GMO poison has been shown to affect females the most (factoring out children). This study found a 600% increase in female deaths of rats fed GMOs. 94% of the cases of tumor growths happened in the mammary glands which equates to breast cancer in a woman.
GMOs killed rats. This is the same GMOs that are being fed to Americans and are sent to other countries to be feed to cattle.
Monsanto would not give out its product to have it independently tested. These researchers had to sneak it in for this study.
Monsanto’s studies were only done within the first 3 months to find no significant growth of tumors and death—but guess what?? In month 4 is when the independent scientists found the problems develop!
THIS IS A CRIMINAL OFFENSE..CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY… AS THE RESEARCHERS IN THIS FILM STATE: THIS SITUATION IS SERIOUS ENOUGH TO REQUEST A MORATORIUM ON GMOS ACROSS THE GLOBE. MANY EUROPEAN COUNTRIES HAVE ALREADY DONE IT. AMERICA NEEDS TO NOW!!!"

Nope, nothing to see here Tom. Still sleeping I assume? Or fretting over gay marriage? Food? We don't need no stinkin' food!

"In order to take full control of the global food chain the world’s largest owner of patents on seeds Monsanto is lobbying, bribing, suing small farmers out of business and altering scientific research, geopolitical analyst F. William Engdahl told RT.
Hundreds of thousands around the world gathered on Saturday in a global move dubbed ‘March Against Monsanto’.
Activists are calling for labeling of food containing GMOs and further scientific research of the effects of GMO crops that while banned in several countries over alleged health threats still remain legal in many others.
Protesters all across the US joined the march calling for a boycott of Monsanto products, following the Senate’s decision to turn down a bill which requires the labeling of GM food.
RT: What’s wrong with GM food?
William Engdahl: The fundamental problem with GM food that it’s genetically and biologically unstable. There’s no genetic modification known to science and this I have from some of top scientists in the world on this question that’s stable – it’s always mutating. And No.2, all the GM products that are in the human and animal food chain over the last 20 years are modified primarily to do one thing – 80 per cent of all the GM is modified to accept chemicals, the pesticides. Monsanto Roundup being the most prominent of them, which are highly, highly toxic and they’re modified to be resistant to that deadly chemical so that it kills everything inside, except the Monsanto corn or the Monsanto soy beans or what will you. All those chemicals are equally as dangerous to the human food chain as the GMO seeds themselves.
RT: Why have so many people in different countries taken to the streets to demonstrate against this US company now?
WE: I think for one very simple reason Monsanto is the company. They are the world’s largest owner of seeds. They’ve bought up all those small seed companies to control those seed varieties of wheat, of rice, of corn and soy beans and so forth. No.2 Monsanto bought up a company that gives Monsanto a patent on what are called terminator seeds, which self-destruct, the seeds commit suicide after one harvest season. So, farmers are unable to take part of their seeds and replant them for the next harvest season – something that never in history has been possible before this Monsanto development. But Monsanto is the metaphor for genetic manipulation of the food chain and they are by far the largest – of course, you have other companies like Syngenta in Switzerland, you have BASF, which is a partner of Monsanto in Germany. You have Dow and DuPont Chemical. But Monsanto is really the giant of the four horsemen of the GMO Apocalypse.
Uh, what?
Yawn.
Monsanto is one of the four horses of the Apocalypse?
ZZZZZ.
First of all it's horsemen.
Second of all, can you read? Monsanto is one of the four horsemen of the "GMO apocalypse". It's called a metaphor.
Hyperbole? Maybe? but when you're talking about monopolizing the food supply exaggeration is the least of our worries. Naturally you can't address the dire, very real, consequences of monsanto's power. Which are very very negative.
Thanks though. Your answer speaks volumes.
Lately I'm trying to contain my glee as I watch the Obama Administration unravel, although it's tempered by my concern about whether America can survive three and a half more years with people of your ilk in power.
Gleeful, eh Tom. Kind of like the glee you had before Romney won the election in a romp?
I'm gleeful watching ignorant putzes like yourself get your hopes rised once again by Far Right talking heads, who get rich by telling the loonies what they want to hear, however far-fetched it may be.
Some fools never learn.....
