Hairy Legs, Culture, and Chicken

The legions of left-wing loonies with whom we share this continent have continued their antics, as a few short items from last week indicate.

Item 1: Seven women with hairy legs are suing the police department in Toronto. They’re alleging they were profiled because of their hairy legs, and a few other things. “[Police] followed a profile that was created by senior Toronto Police Service officers in targeting these seven individuals,” said their attorney, Davin Charney. “That profile included markers such as people who have backpacks, lawyers’ numbers on their arms, people with Quebec licence plates, people speaking French, people wearing black clothing,” Charney added. “My clients fit into that profile, to some extent. And that is why they were arrested, and that is why many people were arrested during the G20 [summit].”

Hmm. This is the kind of stuff you just cannot make up. Attorney Charney didn’t say anything about Birkenstocks, tattoos, knit hats, COEXIST bumperstickers, dreadlocks, hairy armpits, or odors, but that doesn’t mean Toronto cops didn’t take those clues into consideration as well.
The article said: “Plaintiff Alicia Ridge further alleges she was sexually assaulted during a roadside strip search.” The first of the 20 comments following the story was from “Stan M” who said: “I doubt Alicia Ridge was ‘sexually assaulted.’ There is a picture of her with the story.” I went back and looked at her picture and I think Stan had a point. Not only was she unattractive, but she had that petulant, Gloria Allred “I hate men” look going on. Maybe Alicia and her fuzzy friends have a case. I don’t know the laws about preventative detention in Canada, but I do appreciate the comic relief they provide as I follow the case.

Item 2: Across the ocean, the in-the-tank, Obama-supporting, mainstream media was in high dudgeon over Mitt Romney’s speech in Jerusalem. In the media throng were semi-covert agents of the Multicultural Police who accused Romney of racism after he referenced a correlation between Israel’s economic success and their democratic, Jewish culture that prizes education, equality, justice and human rights. Romney contrasted per capita GDP in Israel and the West Bank and attributed the difference to Israel’s culture of entrepreneurship. Thought Police in the Mainstream Media immediately inferred a slam on Palestinian culture. Now, at some level the MSM has got to know today’s Palestinian culture is sick. They must know kindergarten students in government schools are encouraged to become “shahids” - suicide bombers. They must know girls and women are murdered in “honor killings” if they dress like the women in the MSM dress every day. They must remember how Palestinian cousins in Egypt sexually assaulted 60 Minutes reporter Lara Logan a few months ago, shouting “Jew! Jew! Jew!” But they overlook all that and slam Romney for his “gaffe.”

Why? What kind of mental gymnastics are necessary to juxtapose all that with their cherished concept of Palestinians as victims of Israeli “oppression”?

First, they equate culture with race, though they’re not the same thing. Racism is the belief that one race is superior to another - but they apply that logic to culture. Race is nature. Culture is nurture. One immutable, the other malleable. We used to learn that in Psych 101, but the multicultural brainwashing they got at the Columbia School of Journalism insists that “All cultures are equal!” That’s the mantra for mental zombies of the multi-culti cult and it trumps everything for those true believers who comprise almost 90% of the Mainstream Media.Typical street scene in Palestinian West Bank

I don’t know how many of them have actually been to Palestinian towns in the West Bank, but I have. Cultural clues are everywhere and contrast with Israeli culture is startling. Go into an Arab Muslim town in the West Bank and the first thing you notice is graffiti. The second is trash. It’s everywhere, either strewn about or in overflowing trash containers, and it’s not likely that I just happened to be in each town on trash day. It’s like that every day. Arab towns such as Nazareth in Israel proper are not as bad, but not clean either (over a million Israeli citizens are Arab). The third thing you notice is men hanging around in the middle of the day, smoking and talking. I saw none working, except a few in restaurants we patronized.Lastly, there’s Chick-fil-A. More than 600,000 turned out to support it when homosexual activists and their Democrat minions attacked it last week. After gay “marriage” is part of the Democrat Party platform, left-wing mayors in Chicago, San Francisco, Boston, and Philadelphia strong-armed the company because owners dared express conservative views on marriage. Democrats, the Mainstream Media, academia, and Hollywood have steadily cheered gay “marriage,” but it’s just not catching on - not when more than half a million spontaneously line up against it. The mayors quickly backed off, but it’s too late for Democrats. They’ve jumped in with both feet and it’s going to hurt them, big-time, in November.

Obviously you liked that specific comment regarding the profiling, Tom. It's been clear to me for a long time that you are a misogynist as well as a closeted gay man. This was my favorite comment from the story:

"Most conservatives lose all credibility when they comment on a story like this. Government does not get much bigger & badder than this, my friends. But it's a-okay as long as liberals are being targeted".

You are a hopeless hypocrite as well as a mediocre, at best, writer.

Dear Samantha,

Huh? Why do you need to resort to name calling? That shows such maturity.

The article is well reasoned and articulate.

Excellent piece, Tom!

I agree with Greg in CA. It's almost comical how consistently people on the left resort to personal insults and name-calling rather than reasonable argument. If Samantha thinks Tom's writing is so mediocre, why does she bother reading it? Life is too short to spend it working onself into a lather of angry hatred when that time could be spent spreading kindness, support and healing for those we are supposedly defending. Those who spend their time in ad hominem attacks on the free speech of others are the true hypocrites. As a 55-year-old woman, I know misogyny when I see it, and I have not seen it in Tom's writing.

Winston Smith said...

Hey Jules, you're right. Nothing spreads love and kindness like Tom and his articles. As Christians we should condone violence, hatred, bigotry and racism. Right? I also believe we Christians should back our president when he condones the murder of innocent women and children ( I refer to the staggering number of civilian casualties for every successful drone strike Obama has authorized, which, by the way is 268 in Pakistan alone since he took office, are we at war with them???). Certianly Jesus would approve such actions.
I have no doubt. I also believe, as a good Christian American, , that we should pay Israel billions of dollars every year ( despite the fact that it is unconstitutional ) and build them an army---meanwhile our infrastructre is collapsing and the jobless rate skyrockets and countless other nations need dire help, but lets pay israel. That makes sense. Did i mention the unconstitutionality? But tom would kow that, being a teacher and all. And we should accept the fact that congress is a joke and in AIPAC'S pocket. And those pesky settlements? No matter. It's down right Christian if you ask me.
Or let's look at Syria. As Christians and americans we should be backing al quaeda...right? I mean, who cares if they were blamed for 9/11?
Finally Jules, as good god fearing Americans we should listen to the corporate media and everything they say. They have our best interest at heart. No matter six corporations controll all your " news", one of them being GE, the largest military contractor. They dont have an agenda or a reason to manipulate and control information. Nah. So let's keep spreading the word of god via preemptive military action and drone strikes. Not to mention hatred and obsession with other peoples pursuit of liberty and happiness.

God bless

(seriously, how do you all sleep at night?)

A veritable parade of misogyny from poor, threatened Tom. He hates women, he hates/loves gays, he hates brown people - it's a tough old world for a bigot these days. It's nice to see Christian values in action on your blog, Tombo.

Tell us, Tom - do you shave YOUR legs? Does that make you smelly? Can you explain (bein' a teacher and all) how it is that hairy legs on a woman is equivalent to being smelly? If God wanted women to have hairless legs, why did he create them with body hair?

Interesting combination of subjects

Why does one have to be Christian to have values? A good many of those values were described long before the Christian era. Its nothing original, someone just managed to write it down. Disagreement is not hypocrisy as long as you treat all you disagree with the same way. Thank the wise and good men who framed the Constitution for your right to disagree. And you don't even have to be a Christian.
One more thing, why is it not Constitutional to give money to Israel? I will admit to being unclear on this.

Mr. McLaughlin, I’m surprised that you found humor in StanM’s comment. I can appreciate dark humor, but a dismissive comment like that, and your joy in it, are surprising. But you and Stan might be on to a new approach to jurisprudence that can help reduce the glut of frivolous sexual assault charges – a new mediation, if you will. On a scale of one to ten, a panel of middle-aged men can assess the attractiveness of alleged assault victims. Let’s say any rating below a six would be an automatic dismissal of the case, and the alleged perpetrator can be released with the sincerest apologies of the court. Because it’s common knowledge that only wicked hot chicks are the victims of such crimes. Of course, if a panelist’s family member is the victim, he would have to recuse himself. After all, doesn’t every man think his daughter or granddaughter is the most beautiful girl in the world?

I remember people making the same juvenile crack as Stanm about Bill Clinton’s hotel-room indiscretion with Paula Jones who wasn’t the most attractive girl. Were you as flip and dismissive with that allegation as you are with the one in your blog?

But I’m more interested in this quote from your blog, “They must remember how Palestinian cousins in Egypt sexually assaulted 60 Minutes reporter Lara Logan a few months ago, shouting “Jew! Jew! Jew!” But they overlook all that and slam Romney for his “gaffe.”

What does “Palestinian cousins” mean? The phrase isn’t cited anywhere in the article you linked. Were the attackers familial relations or are you just lumping all Arabs in together and linking those Egyptians to the Palestinians of your tired, old screeds? The article reads “…before being saved by a group of women and an estimated 20 Egyptian soldiers.” Were they also Palestinian cousins who came to her rescue and possibly saved her life? Why doesn’t that merit inclusion in your blog?

What are you talking about when you write that the MSM “overlook all that.”? That awful incident was covered on every news program I saw and every periodical I picked up. The article you link reads, “CBS went public with the incident only after it became clear that other media outlets were on to it, sources said.” “Another source insisted that Logan was ‘involved in the process’ of deciding whether to make her attack public, and ultimately understood why the statement had to be released.” How did the MSN “overlooked all that” when the reporting of it was nearly ubiquitous?

Tom McLaughlin said...

Steve,

The Gaza strip was part of Egypt until 1967. Egyptian cousins is appropriate.

It was the Muslim Brotherhood-organized demonstrators who assaulted Logan. They were demonstrating against the Egyptian military. Their actions were a good example of Radical Muslim/Arab attitudes toward women. That soldiers and women saved her is also telling.

The MSM overlooks Radical Islam's treatment of women, children, homosexuals (whom they stone to death or hang) and all that is tantamount to their culture. Yet they insist it's equal to ours or any other. It's multi-culti doctrine.

Steve said...

Points taken, Mr. McLauglin. Maybe one day women in Arab countries will reach a level of social parity with men when they're no longer killed but just laughed at when they claim sexual assault by the police.

Greg Benton said...

Tom,
Although the police were, without question, over-zealous because of the incompetence of the Chief Constable and his political masters, still, it was more than hairy legs that put them in the cage. The behavour of the Toronto Police was quite out of character with Canadian policing and suggested something more akin to Moscow.
I notice that the photograph shows a dark-haired woman with fuzzy blonde-haired legs. That's enough to scare anyone, let alone some cops!

@ Winston Smith, and we should quit paying the PA government a dime, and we should never have paid them a cent, because they want to force Sharia law on everyone, they want to annihilate Israel and they danced in the streets on 9-11.

Tom, you state "The MSM overlooks Radical Islam's treatment of women, children, homosexuals (whom they stone to death or hang) and all that is tantamount to their culture. Yet they insist it's equal to ours or any other."

Please provide proof of the last sentence. Please show where the MSM has said such a thing. Quotes from obscure and irrelevant bloggers such as yourself don't count as proof.

I have read many stories and heard news reports on TV of atrocities against humans by Radical Islamists, so I don't understand where you are coming from with any of this, but your insistence that the MSM ignores/defends this ideology is a lie. You are a liar.

Winston Smith said...

Radical Islam, whatever? Grow up people . They are hardly a threat.

Our government is NOT supposed to give money away, build armies, to other nations. Period. You half waits cheer your tax dollars going to Israel? Fools. Do you have any clue? Tom , as a supposed learned person you should know the unconstitutionality of such action. But, why does it need to be unconstituional for people to be outraged? It's simply wrong. Our country is falling apart and you all let our money float across the ocean? Amazing. And Tom, your unbelievable one sided account of the gaze strip is laughable and insulting to both Palestinians and Jews. Having been there doesn't mean sh&@.

9/11? Don't mention that unless you want some truth. I have no tolerance for you god damned brainwashed morons when it comes to the biggest attack on us soil ever. None. Research for yourself. Israel? Why were there five israeli's celebrating across the river in nj as the towers came down?

"A Mossad "surveillance team" made quite a public spectacle of themselves on 9-11.

The men set up cameras by the Hudson River and trained them on the twin towers.
Police received several calls from angry New Jersey residents claiming "middle-eastern" men with a white van were videotaping the disaster with shouts of joy and mockery. (HA'ARETZ 9/17/01)

"They were like happy, you know … They didn't look shocked to me" said a witness.

[T]hey were seen by New Jersey residents on Sept. 11 making fun of the World Trade Center ruins and going to extreme lengths to photograph themselves in front of the wreckage. (AP and GI)
Witnesses saw them jumping for joy in Liberty State Park after the initial impact. Later on, other witnesses saw them celebrating on a roof in Weehawken, and still more witnesses later saw them celebrating with high fives in a Jersey City parking lot. (Yediot America 11/2/01)"

Yup. But give them your tax money and never question anything. You are always told the truth.

Or, why did Larry Silverstein, owner of the towers, take out a multi billion dollar policy weeks before the attack? He made twice as much because the court ruled two towers equals twice as much money.

uhm, molten lava flowing for weeks underground? Explain that. Jet fuel? Ahhhh, nope.

Keep arguing over the fake two party system. Keep pretending Obama is "liberal" despite the fact he murders women and children with drones all the time.
Keep cheering for other countries while our own rots.

You all should be taking to the streets in outrage. I don't get it...back to the tee vee I guess?

You so called Americans are sickening. Anyting but patriotic and free. You beg for a slave master and even make excuses for being a slave. Israel? Sorry, they deserve nothing from us. Do you even have a clue how much power AIPAC has over congress? Netenyahu gets more standing ovations than a sitting us president when he speaks to congress.

Netanyahou after 9/11

On the day of the 9-11 attacks, former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was asked what the attacks would mean for US-Israeli relations. His quick reply was: "It's very good……. Well, it's not good, but it will generate immediate sympathy (for Israel)"

Winston Smith said...

The jubilant Israeli intelligence agents caught photographing the attacks on the World Trade Center were allowed to return to Israel where they divulged the purpose of their mission on a radio program: “Our purpose was to document the event."
The explosive story of the 5 suspicious Israelis seen celebrating while filming the attacks on the World Trade Center was first reported nationally in American Free Press shortly after September 11. ABC News recently reported on this story and added a comment that deserves attention.

The Forward, a respected Jewish newspaper in New York, reported that at least two of the men were Israeli intelligence (Mossad) agents. The Israeli agents were first seen filming the attack on the WTC while kneeling on the roof of a white van in the parking lot of a New Jersey apartment building across the river from lower Manhattan.

"They seemed to be taking a movie," the resident who noticed them said. The men were taking video or photos of themselves with the World Trade Center burning in the background, she said. What struck her were the expressions on the men's faces. "They were like happy, you know … They didn't look shocked to me. I thought it was very strange," she said.

She found the behavior so suspicious that she wrote down the license plate number of the van and called the police. The FBI was soon on the scene and a statewide bulletin was issued on the van.

The van belonged to a Mossad front company called Urban Moving Systems. Around 4 p.m. on Sept. 11, the van was pulled over, and five Israelis: Sivan and Paul Kurzberg, Yaron Shmuel, Oded Ellner and Omer Marmari, all between 22 and 27 years old, were arrested at gunpoint. One had $4,700 in cash hidden in his sock while another carried two foreign passports. Box cutters were found in the van.

“WE ARE NOT YOUR PROBLEM”

According to the police report, one of the men said they had been on the West Side Highway in Manhattan "during the incident" — referring to the World Trade Center attack. Sivan Kurzberg, the driver, said, "We are Israeli. We are not your problem. Your problems are our problems. The Palestinians are the problem."

The case was turned over to the FBI's Foreign Counterintelligence Section because the FBI believed Urban Moving Systems was a “cover for an Israeli intelligence operation,” ABC reported.

While the FBI searched the company’s Weehawken, N.J., offices, removing boxes of documents and a dozen computer hard drives, the owner of the company, Dominic Suter, was allowed to flee the country. When FBI agents tried to interview Suter a second time they discovered that he had cleared out of his New Jersey home and fled to Israel.

When ABC reporters visited Urban Moving Systems, “it looked as if it had been shut down in a big hurry. Cell phones were lying around; office phones were still connected; and the property of dozens of clients remained in the warehouse.”

The Israelis had been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, for overstaying their tourist visas and working in the United States illegally. Two weeks after their arrest, an immigration judge ordered them to be deported, however, FBI and CIA officials in Washington put a hold on the case, according to ABC.

The five men were held in detention for more than two months. Some of them were placed in solitary confinement for 40 days and given as many as seven lie-detector tests. One of them, Paul Kurzberg, refused to take a lie-detector test for 10 weeks and then failed it, according to his lawyer.

Hey Tom, How's it going?

In regards to the Chick-Fil-A dust up, I have a few comments.

First off, the food is decent. I'd say it's on par with Dunkin Donuts.

Secondly, the owner seems to come across his beliefs honestly enough. The chain closes on Sundays which means they value their beliefs over profits. In this way, they could be compared to a company like Ben and Jerry's that consciously mixes personal belief with business.

On a personal note, I recently ate at a Chick-Fil-A and noticed a lot of Anti-Muslim, Buddhist, Hinduism literature. There was also newsletters for children explaining why evolution was wrong.

While I find the actions of Mayors to restrict Chick-Fil-A reprehensible, I support their right to express their opinions. If a chunk of folks want to support Chick-Fil-A's stand, more power to them. Let them hold onto their guns, waffle fries, and old timey religion.
I on the other hand will be eating elsewhere. God, I love the free market.

"Foreign aid is not only unconstitutional, but also exceedingly unwise. It creates the worst kind of entangling alliances that President Washington warned about. It doesn’t buy us any real allies, but instead encourages false friendships, dependency, and a sense of entitlement among the recipients. It also causes resentment among nations that receive none, or less than they feel they deserve. Above all, however, it is simply unconscionable to tax American citizens and send their money overseas. We have enough problems of our own here at home, and those dollars should be returned to taxpayers or spent on legitimate constitutional activities."

Wake the f@&$ up. Your country needs you. This one. America. Hello!!!

Anonymous said...

No one is answering about foreign aid except to say it is unconstitutional. Give me evidence. Is it just your opinion or Law?

Ol Hickory said...

Anonymous maybe instead of relying on other people to tell you your rights you do some research? Wtf?

Congress is nowhere authorized by our law to send U.S. taxpayer money to foreign nations.

Winston Smith said...

...."The Constitution (including its Treaty Clause) was designed by our Founders to limit the powers of the Federal government and give to the people the understanding that our government was created by the people as their instrument to primarily make and keep secure their God-given, unalienable rights (and the supporting rights, notably the right to property) according to the Declaration of Independence.

This means … It is a violation of the fundamental law of the people (our Constitution) for the Federal government to deprive us of our property by taxation in order to donate to foreign governments, or peoples, including charities, except to the extent authorized for the common Defense (protection) and general Welfare (well-being) of the United States."

This means …that any donation abroad of funds or things, military or any other kind, by the Federal government--in order to be authorized by the Constitution--must contribute substantially and directly to the "common Defense... of the United States," meaning the National Defense: the actual, military, physical defense of the American homeland.

Under the Constitution …, Congress and the President completely lack any power to act the benevolent role abroad with the American peoples’ property--money or any other type. This is true as to all so-called "foreign aid”. Individuals may, of course, give such aid out of their own property (money) as they please.

The words "general Welfare" in the Taxing Clause refers expressly to the well-being of the people of the United States. This excludes the people of any foreign country. The fact is this provision does not give Congress a general legislative power, to provide even for the American people's general welfare in any way Congress sees fit.
Reference The Federalist number 83 by Hamilton.

The simple fact is the general welfare clause grants no power, or authority, to Congress to provide for the welfare (well-being) of the people of any foreign country. There is evidence of this understanding as discussed by Madison in the debates in the House of Representatives on January 10, 1794, concerning a proposal to grant Federal funds for the relief of a group of citizens of France given asylum in Baltimore, Maryland, who were already being given relief locally. According to the report in a Philadelphia newspaper, Dunlap & Claypoole's American Daily Advertiser of January 14, 1794 (reporting the debate of January 10th), Madison expressed sympathy for the refugees and stated his hope that some way could be devised for their relief other than a grant of financial aid by Congress because, he stated, this would be beyond the authority of Congress under the Constitution. The newspaper's summary of his remarks is, in part:

". . . the government of the United States is a definite government, confined to specified objects--it is not like the state governments whose powers are more general. Charity is no part of the legislative duty of the [Federal] government; it would puzzle him to lay his finger on any part of the constitution which would authorize the government to interpose in this business . . . He concluded his remarks by saying, that tho' he was of opinion that the relief contemplated could not be granted in the way proposed . . ." [because in violation of the Constitution, yet a constitutional way might be found.].."

Tom McLaughlin said...

Yes, it could be interpreted that way. Liberals like Obama, Amnesty International, Eric Holder, Hillary Clinton, et al, love to mess with gun rights. "Mess with" could be interpreted as infringement and that's expressly banned.

The Washington DC and Chicago gun bans were infringements. NYC's is too by that standard.

"Or that we would allow them to."

Right. So long as there are enough of us who know they would if they could, Constitution or no.
