I checked off "prison ministry" and someone contacted me who had been doing it 18 years at the CCJ. I shadowed him and another guy a for a few weeks and then asked for my own pod. Rev Jeff coordinates all volunteers and he helped clear the way for me. I had to be fingerprinted, checked out, etc. and they made me a badge. AA people go in regularly too. There are about a dozen other men who do what I do.Tom McLaughlinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07691546351143209227noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20524196.post-1722783491798292812017-12-27T11:45:39.125-05:002017-12-27T11:45:39.125-05:00But what kind of brew-ha-ha did you have to go thr...But what kind of brew-ha-ha did you have to go through with "officials" to be granted permission to even enter the jail, and provide this service?
With Alcohol (and other) recovery volunteer folks it seemed unreasonably fussy.
As it turns out, I now see exactly why.
Just keep hammerin' Tom.
CaptDMO Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20524196.post-3155189343022564742017-12-26T23:47:14.072-05:002017-12-26T23:47:14.072-05:00God bless you Tom.
