When I go to state and national conferences, I'm the only conservative there.

That William Ayers, an unrepentant Weatherman, is a tenured education professor at a state university in Illinois is statement enough. The texts he writes encourage social activism by his students who become public school teachers.

How much of the NEA budget is contributed to conservatives? I believe the answer is either none or close to none. Check it out. How much goes to liberals? I believe the answer is "all of it."

You're a public school science teacher. The only thing I know about how you teach is that you lead your students on campaigns to save the rain forests. That's a clue about your political leanings.

Mine are out there. I'm a conservative. My students know it because I tell them. I also tell them their book is written by liberals who pretend they're objective when they're not. I teach them there is a political spectrum and also how to recognize bias whether it's mine or their text's and choose their own perspective.

There are virtually no Republicans on state or private university faculties in the humanities anywhere in the country. If you don't know that, you have research to do.

I suggest you start here:

http://www.studentsforacademicfreedom.org/news/1893/FacultyStudies.htmTom McLaughlinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07691546351143209227noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20524196.post-37574944076380401942008-06-01T22:43:00.000-04:002008-06-01T22:43:00.000-04:00Why have I not heard back from you with those perc...Why have I not heard back from you with those percentages to back up your claims about public school history teachers?

Robert DowAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20524196.post-91999120113650024542008-05-01T10:56:00.000-04:002008-05-01T10:56:00.000-04:00Although I believe Rev. Wright is a moonbat and hypocrite (living in a gated community) hidden among these crazy outbursts are a few valid points.
I do believe U.S. Intelligence was aware that an attack on Pearl Harbor was imminent.
There are many sites that contain information to back this up. Here is one that I found, http://www.independent.org/newsroom/article.asp?id=408
Wright also says the U.S. supported Iraq in its war with Iran. The U.S. over the years has supported many shady characters Noriega, Marcos, Shah of Iran, Batista, etc. if it was in our interest to do so. We now ally ourselves to Saudi Arabia even though most of the 9/11 terrorists came from Saudi Arabia; Saudi princes have supported Osama Bin Laden (another Saudi) financially. In his book, “Three Cups of Tea,” the author touches on schools built and run by al-Qaeda and the Taliban that focused on teaching the Koran and training terrorists. Funding for these schools in Pakistan also came from Saudi Arabia yet our idiot president continues to maintain a close relationship with this government on par with the Taliban for their harsh treatment of women and foreign workers. Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein were not allies. Bin Laden is a strict Muslim; Hussein tolerated it but was not practicing himself. Other religions were allowed to practice in Iraq under Saddam. There were Catholic churches, Anglican Churches and practicing Orthodox Christians. Read more about Canon Andrew White at this link, http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment/faith/article3585903.ece
I support my country but the U.S. is not perfect, no country/government is and we need to stay vigilant, research what we read and hear and not always believe everything that is fed to us by our government, military, political parties, the media, etc. There are extremes at both ends of the spectrum in both the Republican and Democrat parties. We need to ensure that these extremists do not hijack the party so that the mainstream citizen fails to be represented.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20524196.post-43236740825107709352008-05-01T10:37:00.000-04:002008-05-01T10:37:00.000-04:00In your article you are stating that Barack Obama ...In your article you are stating that Barack Obama and other democrats are guilty by association. I'm sure all of you have associated with a person in your life time whom you have not shared or approved of their views, but are you judged because of it?

I personally am a young democrat who holds many of the same views that Barack Obama shares when it comes to policy and his basic common sense way to go about getting things done, would you consider me a radical?

I love my country as do most democrats, as do all the teachers I have had the pleasure to learn from. The teachers who I know do not teach to push across their own political agendas or look to instill a sense of animosity towards our county. In fact when asked by students, teachers at Kennett High School will not, or if so, very reluctantly discuss their party affiliation and political views. Teachers work hard to create a neutral environments where all aspects and all sides of and issue are able to be discussed. They work to create free thinking and inspired individuals who they hope one day will be able to shape this torn nation into something better for futures to come.

When it comes down to I think you need to rethink your reasonings for dwelling on such a minute problem as association. I think we have larger problems in our country, most of which have been brought about by the right which you seem to willingly associate yourself with. Lets get past the partisanship and get down to the real issues.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06159381819801120287noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20524196.post-30306819818271847282008-05-01T09:58:00.000-04:002008-05-01T09:58:00.000-04:00Further clarification on the Che Guevera controver...Further clarification on the Che Guevera controversy can be found here: http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/chavez.asp
Apparently this Obama office was/is not an official campaign office. The Obama campaign responded: "We were disappointed to see this picture because it is both offensive to many Cuban Americans and Americans of all backgrounds, and because it does not reflect Senator Obama's views."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20524196.post-73646044375783561972008-04-30T23:18:00.000-04:002008-04-30T23:18:00.000-04:00I am just curious to know what percentage of Ameri...I am just curious to know what percentage of America’s public school history teachers have a view of America very similar to those of the Reverend Wright and William Ayers.

Are ALL of them holding those views AND teaching our "kids" those views as you insinuate in the above article? Is it possible that some of them hold those views but do NOT teach them to our "kids?"

Please do not respond with some kind of accusation that I must somehow agree with Reverend Wright and William Ayers! That method will not work with me. Please just give me the percentages to back up your claims.

Thank you!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
