I especially appreciate the ones about the 60"s. You are dead on. I just got this link sent to me and it is easily one of the best things I'v seen regarding the "conflict". one probably won't last too long. Please contact me and I'll provide the URL if you wish. Many thanks.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20524196.post-30195453479845595092007-06-12T21:32:00.000-04:002007-06-12T21:32:00.000-04:00That's an interesting observation. Both Egypt and Israel have very long histories, but one looks forward mindful of it's past, while the other looks backward mostly backward.

The Muslim Brotherhood, precursor of the various radical Muslim factions we're at war with today, originated in Egypt. Was a bit unsettling seeing all the soliders, but like you say, Israel is in a constant state of war.

I felt safer there than in Egypt. Which leads me to comment about a contrast I noticed: Israel is a country looking to the future, whereas Egypt is a country looking backwards and longing for the 'glorious past' of pharaohs and so on.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12632947951782985916noreply@blogger.com
