They say and do things without giving it a second thought. That's why we're in such a mess today. The information age has not been entirely a good thing.

It's as tho nobody thinks for themselves anymore because they are so heavily influenced by the TMI world we live in today. There's not a whole lot we can do to escape it either because like a web, we are caught up in it and there's no easy way out.

Now we must work at making time to unplug and detox just so we can think clearly for ourselves.DAWNnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20524196.post-34196463148253278872011-10-22T18:59:42.706-04:002011-10-22T18:59:42.706-04:00Been away Tom, but always enjoy coming back and s...Been away Tom, but always enjoy coming back and seeing your great pictures! I may not get 100 channels, but all I really need is a news channel, just in case something earth shattering happens. I will want to watch, even though when 9-11 happened, and I was glued to the TV for three days, it, too, became overload. Now, without a TV, I check the major news websites a couple of times a day.

I recommend Findagrave.com to anyone who enjoys history, and enjoys getting outside, walking, and finding out who our ancestors are. When I walk about an old cemetery, taking pictures of old graves, I am getting sun, exercise, and history lessons. It's great, and I highly recommend it. By the way, I leave my phone in the car too. ;)Rhondanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20524196.post-3832442035225709312011-10-19T19:08:11.448-04:002011-10-19T19:08:11.448-04:00To paraphrase Socrates (I think it was him?) :

We have become disrespectful, uncaring, self centered and unethical as a nation. Things are moving too quickly and we need to slow down.

Tom has seen the light. We need to take time, stand back and contemplate what we are doing. Catch your breath, enjoy the things and people that make you happy. Yes, find yourself a place to go, to think and relaxe. You'll be a better person for it.Bradleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10178960329231922457noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20524196.post-30858213228770940002011-10-19T11:01:05.521-04:002011-10-19T11:01:05.521-04:00You have put into words what I have been striving ...You have put into words what I have been striving (ineffectually) to comprehend. The acronym TMI applies to my capacity for understanding. I find it helpful to visualize a filter, and to let through only that which applies to my life, but then I start to wonder what is trapped in that filter that I should know to be better informed. Old age and a faulty memory is a great boon...Texas Transplantnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20524196.post-81066069649623463032011-10-19T10:29:39.621-04:002011-10-19T10:29:39.621-04:00I miss being able to go and sit by the Harbor wher...I miss being able to go and sit by the Harbor where I used to live.
Sometimes the ocean was placid and peaceful, other times it was wild and fierce with a Nor'easter howling in. Thats how my brain felt at different times. I found that I always felt better and my troubles became less important and it helped ease restless mind.
I do love my computer and the things it opens to me but there are moments when I just want everything to go away. Now I just stop at a scenic spot in the mountains and enjoy the beauty of nature.
Enjoy your time Tom, it can be taken away so quickly.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
